Randomness
(even the picture is random...I just thought it was sexy..)
This blog will be all about randomness....be warned..

It was hot again today...working on a full week. Sunny, beautiful...but hot. I'm still hot...I'm not complaining though..Nooooo..I'll take this instead of constant rain any day!
Resumes looking good.. I rock. I think things are going to be just fine...on that count, at least!
Emily likes glue. A lot. Mike and I were having a talk on friday..she was playing 'quietly' in the living room. Yeah. Glue everywhere..hallway, hardwood floors, table, ALL over her...and we couldn't be mad..she made us a 'present' which consisted of diffent colors of contruction paper all glued together..with a straw sticking out of the middle. Pure Art. With so much glue, in fact, that it feels like strong cardboard. But it's beautiful. Then, Saturday night, Mike goes in to check on her, because she's not sleeping. Glue. Everywhere. All over her..again...all over her Dr. Kit...all over her little table. So...yeah. No more glue. Glue is the devil. Raar.
James is obsessed with the phone. Obsessed. He talks on it..( or if it isn't available, he'll happily use his hand..and say..'Hello!'..which sounds like 'hioooo'.) Yeah. He's my kid.
Today, Emily had a emty bottle of water outside. She held the bottle over the recycle container, looked at me...and said..."Recycle?" Yeah, she's four. Is it silly to be proud that she could say that, and know what it meant at such a young age? Don't tell me if it's silly...I'm proud anyway.
I found a hammock today. Someone down the street had it outside..25 bucks..freestanding. I wrote a check that they'll cash on the first...because we are b.r.o.k.e. But I wanted it..( this said in a whiney voice..) And I love it. It's so fun.
I put up a tent today, with lots of ball pit balls in it..( think McDonalds ball pits..or Ikea..you get it.) James got it for his birthday from his YaYa..and It was so fun for them to play outside in...except James wants to go running into the street..( our backyard is still a unplayable disaster from the December storm..) He just runs..and when I chase him..he runs faster and laughs at me. It is possible for a one year old to mock? Yes. Yes it is.
So they played..I pulled weeds..then layed my ass in the hammock...LOVE it..( did I mention that?) And read my book. I'm reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown..( The author of the Divinci Code..GREAT book)...He's such a good writter...I'm so hooked already..and I'm not even to page 100...And I'm getting Tan. Yay. No more pasty 'Seattle' white...woo hoo!
I made a amazing dinner tonight. A 'poor mans' dinner. Where you see what's left in the pantry, and freezer..then just throw it all together. It was sooo good. I mean GOOD. I'll remember how to make that...even when we have money..lol
So tonight, I was laying out in the hammock..watching the stars..and the whispy clouds float by....and I felt happy. I still yearn...I still want...but it was beautiful...I told my friend tonight, I think it was a perfect moment. Sometimes I think life is full of 'glimpses of perfection'...( I'll have to remember that for a thoughtful blog..but this sure as hell isn't it, eh?)
I wanted to watch The Princess Bride tonight...I NEEDED to watch it..it's such a nice comfort movie for me...But Mike stole it. Took it to work. Meany. So I was stuck watching old reruns of The Cosby Show...( Which I used to LOVE as a kid...so it was fun..just not the Princess Bride..you know?)
Okay, I think I'm done..and headed to bed..I'm sooo tired..but Em has a cold or something, so she's been up on and off all night..poor girl.
Hope you all have a great Tuesday..( It's tuesday today, right?)
xoxo

Yey randomness! Finding tents and hammocks, making amazing dinners from nothing, eating glue; these are all excellent little things that can add up to make a special yet random day. It's just a shame you didn't have the Princess Bride on hand. My favorite substitute for that is the Never Ending Story, for some reason. Not the same film, but both capture that innocent imaginative space.
Now I'm being random. My apologies
That is a sexy picture. I'm going to take it as inspiration for my next crochet project.
These kinds of random days are the best. Glue - bwahahahahahahaha ... remind me sometime to tell you about the time my boys found a can of paint ... DARK PURPLE paint.
Mike took your Princess Bride tape? Without Your Express Permission?
Damn the man, this fellow is going DOWN!
*Dread draws sword*
On your guard Sir!
HA!
sail on... sail on!!!
Oh but glue is fun mom!! haha. Love it. We had crayons everywhere for a while. My oldest had friends that were twins and all three of 'em were 2. Yeah. The three constructed a beautiful mural on the hallway walls while the adults visited about 10 feet away, clueless. They were sooo adorable standing there with the sponges and soapy water too. It was cute.
My son is in love with the phone. He treats the remotes like them too - when he's not turning the tv on and off.
He doesn't say hello or anything though, he just listens. He's gonna be like his daddy, quiet listener. Should be a good thing.
Send heat!! Pweeese!! IT's freakin' COLD! Ok, under 70 but still...not summer weather. *POUT*
*hugs* enjoy these days. It's what keeps us going through the crappy ones.
love,
me
Ohhh..Jeff, I'm with you on the NeverEnding Story...I LOVE that movie, too...and Labrynth, and Legend...All good, fun comfort movies for me!
In England they have a great use for the leftovers from Sunday lunch, (normally roast leg of lamb or roast beef) They cut the leftover lamb up small, mix it with the left over mashed potatoes, chuck in the cabbage and other veg, give it another mix, then make it into patties, dampen a frying pan with a little oil and fry it until brown on both sides, my favorite, its called bubble and squeak, try it, it's Yummy scrummy in your tummy.
Seems as though appreciation of the simple things is in good supply today. Glad to hear it!!
My kids like glitter glue. My mom got 10 different colors of it for Christmas last year. You want to talk about a fun clean up?
Love and Light
I want a hammock! Well I also want a yard to use it...lol....Princess Bride is one of my watch-a-million-times movies too
Glad you had a perfect moment, they are rare, and rarer still is stopping to process and enjoy them!
obsessed with phones.....
LilE has 3. He lines them up....
Hewwow, hold.
Picks up next 1.
Hewwow, Hold.
Picks up 3rd one
Hewwow, hold.
I think he is training for an office phone job.
I hate talking on the phone. Despise it. Ugghhh. But I have friends that talk all the time, which may be why I hate it. I can never get a hold of them! Have a wonderful day!
As Wesley said...
"get used to disappointment".
*a note to all, the movie has been returned, unharmed.
as you wish....
love that movie...
and random is good...
t
Random is good...keeps you from thinking too deeply...
Your kids are so cute and a hammock sounds so peaceful....sigh....of course I am a clutz and am just imagining the worst.
Glad you got your movie back!

LOL – this is great! I think sometimes randomness can be the best… All these stories of little buggers with art supplies and telephones make me wish for one of my own… of course I am at least somewhat satisfied in the fact I’m the fun aunt that gives all the kids crayons, finger paint, play-doe, anything that will inspire their artistic sides… muahahaha… don’t ya love me?
I hope it was Elmer's glue... at least that's safe.
I love and own all of the movies listed. The Labrynth is one of my favorites. It's basically the only time that I've seen Bowie look sexy... it must be the hair.
I have to watch them all periodically or I feel like I'm missing something from life. And, now that my grandson is here, I have a good excuse... not that I really need one.
Here I am again...and some of my most favorite movies were named here....love them ALL. I've been slowly collecting them on DVD to replace the old old old VHS collection. Awesome!!

Hey Hon,
First please post a PIC of Emily's art. Second, we made an executive decision not to give Gwen Elmer's glue. She seems to do OK with a glue stick. One more thing, do you have the recipe? I would like it. I will trade you for some turkey.
Merry Part and Blessed Be
